Class Notes 4/22

Today the class took the second part of a practice AP exam, which was a free response portion.

No homework over break other than study for the AP exam that take place on May 12th.

Class Notes 4/20

Today the class took a practice of Part I of the AP exam. Multiple choice questions.

There is no homework. Friday the class will take a practice of Part II of the AP exam which is short answers.

Class Notes 4/18

Today in class we went over Chapter 24 and 26. Comparing Means and Comparing Counts (chi-squared models).

No homework.

Class 4/13

Today the class took a look at the short answer part of the AP exam.

Homework: Due Monday read chapter 24 and 26. We will cover these two chapter on Monday.

Today in class we covered Chapter 23 (Inference of Means) and then we worked on some problems for the book. Wednesdays class will be an AP review day

Class Notes 9/7

Today was a review in AP Stats. In hopes to start getting the class ready for the AP Exam, we went over the formula sheet that they will get on the exam. Our goal for that sheet is to get accustomed to seeing those equations and knowing what they mean, so that they can use the proper equation on any given problem. After we went over the formula sheet they students continued their work on the multiple choice portion of the exam.

Homework: Read chapter 23.

Class Notes 4/5

Today in class we covered two proportion z-tests. This chapter looks at comparing numbers when the stats come from two independent groups. After we did a few problems on the chapter, we started looking at some AP exam questions.

The plan the rest of the year is to continue to work on new material along with dedicating some time each class to reviewing some earlier material.

Homework due 4/7: Read Chapter 23. Also bring in your formula sheet that I handed out a few weeks ago. We will be going over that. I want to get you familiar with this sheet as it will be provided on your AP exam.

Class Notes 4/1

Today in class we covered Chapter 21. Which dealt showed us the two possible errors of Hypothesis testing, a Type I error and a Type II error.

Homework: IT task #9, read chapter 22.
